Celebrate in Style: The Top 4 Wedding Venues in Congleton, Cheshire
In the heart of Cheshire, Congleton boasts a small collection of beautiful venues that are sure to paint the perfect backdrop for your dream wedding. Congleton is a market town in Cheshire close to the Peak District. Congleton is famous for being known as the Beartown, originating from a story called ‘Bear and Bible’. This article delves into the top four wedding venues in Congleton, each offering its own unique blend of charm and ambiance. Alongside these venues we’ll touch upon a Cheshire wedding videographer's tips for each venue for the perfect footage.
The venues listed below are in or around Congleton and include mainly barn style wedding venues. This is mostly due to the area being surrounded by nature so the venues naturally fit into this aesthetic.
Alcumlow Wedding Barn
Nestled in picturesque countryside, Alcumlow Wedding Barn welcomes couples into their venue to celebrate the perfect wedding. The Dutch barn has been transformed into a rustic wedding venue, exclusive use and only takes on a select number of weddings a year. By doing so it means the team can really concentrate on ensuring every wedding has the same meticulous attention to detail.
Licensed for civil ceremonies you can have up to 100 of your guests enjoy your ceremony on location and then enjoy cocktail hour in the Spanish inspired courtyard. More importantly the venue is dog friendly which is a highlight in itself. The evening reception can then expand to 180 guests to celebrate the party.
Cheshire Wedding Videographer Tip: Alcumlow Wedding Barn offers a lot when it comes to your couples shoot. The huge wooden doors are a centerpiece and the lake can be the perfect setting for your film.

Sandhole Oak Barn
This venue sits next to a tranquil lake and acres of green luscious fields. Sandhole Oak Barn is one of Cheshire's most sought after barn venues. Exclusive use and accommodation for close friends and family means you can rest assured all those closest to you can enjoy the whole day.
Your ceremony can take place either inside the barn or outside under the clock tower. After the ceremony you and your guests can enjoy the cocktail hour outside looking out to the lake. Couples shoots can start on the driveway, moving to the Sandhole farm B&B gardens, back to The Oak Barn where you will rejoin your guests.
The wedding breakfast will be served in the Oak Barn with food made fresh by Top Table. After the toasts the curtain to the dancefloor will be unveiled to wow your guests with either your DJ or band of choice. Having been a wedding videographer at this venue I can safely say the staff are very attentive and will go above and beyond to ensure your day runs smoothly.
Sandhole Oak Barn Wedding Videographer Tip: With the lake and lucious grounds to walk around, the couples shots are beautiful and easy to capture. If you’re looking for some more artsy shots using light, there is a barn near the entrance which, depending on the time of day, can have some stunning light shapes beaming through the wood.
