Larkspur Lodge
Larkspur Lodge is a 200 year old, renovated barn owned by two families that have a hands-on approach with the business. The interior has a rustic charm with quirky decor including cinema seats for the ceremony room, Pony and Trap chairs in the bar area. The exclusive use venue accommodates 150 guests for the day and then 180 into the evening.
Fully licensed for civil ceremonies, the ceremony room has original oak truss’ overheads with fairy lights throughout, the room is perfectly decorated to ensure the ceremony is how you envisioned. There are local churches and chapels nearby if you did decide to go down the more traditional route for your wedding.
Cocktail hour takes place in the gardens (weather dependent) with Larkspur flowers in bloom adorning the pristine kept gardens. Outdoor games, drinks and footage/photographs can be taken with tree adorned backdrops. On warmer days you can even have your ceremony outside.

Merrydale Manor
Merrydale Manor is owned by the Irlam family who also own another venue in Knutsford covered next in this article. A bespoke, exclusive use venue with the aim to be the most luxurious and sophisticated venue in Cheshire. The estate has a rolling driveway surrounded by well kept lawns leading you to the manor house itself.
The morning prep area has either the Makeup Room or the Makeup Suite. Both have been fitted with bridal prep in mind so that the morning of the wedding runs smoothly. If you hire the manor house you have the option of both rooms, if you don’t then the option is the Makeup Room. Groom prep then has The Cave, a space that has been designed to start the day with a football table and snooker table.
Your civil ceremony can be held either outside if the weather is on your side or a dedicated ceremony room. The ceremony room has limestone floors, beamed ceilings and large windows to allow natural light to flood in. Your wedding breakfast is served in the Merrydale Suite by Barrett’s Event Catering. Your menu can be tailored with the team so that you can have the cuisine of your choice.
The evening reception transforms the Merrydale Suite into an evening reception like no other. With a stage for your band and/or dj you can guarantee the best evening for your guests. This venue can also accommodate up to 38 of your guests either in the Manor House, Courtyard Rooms or their Eco Woodland Pods.

Colshaw Hall
Another venue owned by the Irlam family, Colshaw Hall is a grade ii listed building and is an exclusive use, privately owned estate. As you drive down the elegant driveway you will see a Japanese inspired garden and lake instantly giving you an incredible visual to start your wedding day.
The Makeup Room was designed in 2020 with prep at the forefront of the design process. It boasts natural light, high chairs and mirrors throughout to ensure that your morning runs smoothly. Your partner will have access to The Den equipped with table football, table tennis and a widescreen tv to relax into the day. Situated next to the ceremony room so that it’s far away from the Makeup Room at the main house. This ensures the couple won’t see each other on before the ceremony.
The Shed is a location for your civil ceremony to take place. The room is well lit, is spacious with oak beams, marble floor and leaded windows. Alternatively you can have an outdoor ceremony in either their classic magnolia garden, walled garden or the Japanese garden. Your wedding breakfast will be served in the Peel Suite by Barretts Catering, the same caterers for Merrydale Manor. The couple can sample menus beforehand so that you can decide upon the winning meal for your day.
The evening will have the Peel Suite transformed into a room perfect for your final celebrations. You have the option to hire a stage for your evening entertainment which I highly recommend to give your guests a true live event experience. Accommodation is available on site with 7 rooms in the hall, 7 bedrooms in the cottages, 2 double bedrooms in the hunters lodge, 2 double eco lodges and 2 twin lodges.

Mere Court Hotel
Mere Court Hotel is set in 7 acres of lush, landscaped gardens with a private lake just outside of Knutsford town centre. The venue has the option to be exclusive use so they can close the hotel off from public access. This Edwardian estate can be a very desirable setting for your wedding.
This venue has the option of civil ceremonies either inside or outside in the grounds accommodating up to 150 guests. The most popular space is The Aboreum where the opulent, georgian style feel can give you and your guests an amazing space to share your ‘I dos’
Your wedding breakfast and evening reception will then take place within the conservatory. This space is dedicated to these two sections of the day and can be styled to your desired feel.
