‘How Jess and Charlie met’

Jess and Charlie are a very active couple, from hiking to cross fit, these two love to keep their bodies healthy. Jess and Charlie both met in Newcastle and now reside in Manchester with their two cats. They planned their wedding at The Oak Tree Of Peover ensuring every element of their wedding had an autumnal theme. The florist at this wedding was Florence and Flowers who made light work of making the bouquet and the floral arrangements perfect for the big day. It was a pleasure to be hired as an Oak Tree of Peover wedding videographer.

Jess and Charlie have been together 6 years before their wedding, battling through 2020 together and coming out the other side a stronger couple. Jess startled Charlie at the beginning showing him the life plan spreadsheet, but they made it, right on schedule! Charlie always promised Jess good chat whilst Jess was able to make any conversation flow between them. It was love from the very beginning.

Charlie proposed to Jess in Italy, which as any potential groom to be would be, was very nervous. It was on a holiday to Rome in September and they had their close family with them for the occasion. From there they now have a house in Manchester with two cats called Brian and Sonya. The perfect names for cats if you ask me.

For Jess’s wedding, she wore a dress from The Confetti Box, make up and hair was done by the amazing Faye Kenyon. This was the look Jess wanted and was achieved flawlessly as you can see in the videos and images in this post.

Tony....this is AMAZING! Thank you so much, what a treat!

In the morning Jess was situated in the bridal suite at Oak Tree of Peover with her bridesmaids and mother. As a videographer I always say hello in the morning without my camera so that everyone can get used to me and before putting a camera in the room. Country music was the soundtrack for the whole day with songs from Chris Stapleton and Luke Combs getting everyone ready for a magical day. The sun was shining on this autumnal day and the light was a joy to work with. Once Jess was ready we had the first look with her father. The reaction was perfect, he was in awe seeing his little girl in a wedding dress all grown up.

The ceremony was perfect, Jess and Charlie wrote their own vows which is something I recommend to all my couples if they feel confident enough, it really makes the ceremony more personal. Charlie was very emotional seeing Jess walk down the aisle with lip trembling and a beaming smile. Throughout the ceremony there were two readings. The first was from Alice, Charlies sister, who read a poem called ‘A Marriage Made for Two’. The second reading by Scarlett, Jess’ cousin, reading a poem from Albert Einstein called ‘relativity’.

Cocktail hour started with a confetti tunnel to welcome in the new Mr and Mrs Greswold. It’s important for me to allow the couple space after the ceremony to mingle with their guests and have a chance to really enjoy their wedding day. This is the perfect moment to capture candid shots of laughter, smiles and important people of the day. After the photographer was finished with her group photos we managed to capture the last moments of golden hour. Jess and Charlie made it clear to me that they didn’t want posed shots, more candid moments. For this it’s a case of prompting the couple like walking, talking to each other and just letting the moment happen, not interrupting, capture the couple acting the way they would naturally together.

The day continued into the evening with heartfelt toasts, a cake cut (provided by Kin Bakehouse and Kitchen) into a choreographed first dance and then a live band provided by Bands For Hire. The day was perfect from start to finish and to be the videographer chosen to capture this day was a privilege. Congratulations again to Jess and Charlie who i’m sure will enjoy a long and healthy marriage.

These are Jess’s words on ‘the best Cheshire wedding videographer’: “thank you so much for being the perfect videographer for our wedding. It was lovely how you came to introduce yourself to us first and made us feel so at ease. You were so discrete and have completely spoiled us with all of these trailers and reels that you have made! At a previous wedding we were guests at, we had seen how not to veto a wedding, where the videographer was not at all discrete, and it actually detracted from the day. I can’t say how far from this you were, we barely noticed you (and I mean that as a compliment!). Based on what we’ve seen so far, we are so excited for our films, so we can reminisce on the best day ever, thanks again!”
