Catherine and Mike met at work where every modern love story begins, as soon as Mike saw Catherine he knew he had to reach out. Catherine and Mike now have a beautiful family including two little girls who were the best flower girls on the wedding day. They planned their wedding at The Venue Bowers Mill ensuring every element of their wedding had a moody theme. The florist at this wedding was Petal Bloom who made light work of making the bouquet and the floral arrangements perfect for the big day.
For Catherine’s wedding, she wore a dress from The bespoke Wedding Boutique and make up and hair was done by the amazing Jodie Ferrari. This was the look Catherine wanted and was achieved flawlessly as you can see in the videos and images in this post. It was a pleasure to be hired as their wedding videographer at The Venue, Bowers Mill.

In the morning Catherine was prepped at her parents house near Manchester with her 6 flower girls. As a videographer I always say hello in the morning without my camera so that everyone can get used to me and before putting a camera in the room. With six flower girls the morning was extremely calm, working with Jordan Greenwood on photo was a real pleasure . The weather was a little cloudy in the morning but it did brighten up as the day went on. Once Catherine was ready we had the first look with her father. The reaction was perfect, he was in awe seeing his little girl in a wedding dress all grown up.
The ceremony was perfect, Mike held back his tears after seeing the flower girls walk down the aisle, and then was very emotional seeing Catherine walk down the aisle with lip trembling and a beaming smile. The ceremony room at this venue was intimate and held such beautiful light behind the couple.
Cocktail hour started with music being played by the amazing Connor Banks. It’s important for me to allow the couple space after the ceremony to mingle with their guests and have a chance to really enjoy their wedding day. This is the perfect moment to capture candid shots of laughter, smiles and important people of the day. After the photographer was finished with the group photos we attempted a colourful smoke bomb walk, which sadly ended with only one of the smoke bombs working. This was received well with lots of smiles and laughter.
We went into the ceremony room for some couples portraits, utilising the natural light through the window at The Venue Bowers Mill. The wedding breakfast started with speeches from the father of the bride, Catherine’s grandad, Mike, best man and Catherine dedicated her bouquet to her mother. The wedding was styled by the amazing Emily K.
The evening was orchestrated by a three piece band performing covers of 90’s dance classics. The dance floor had an extremely bright spotlight which leant itself for some really dreamy footage. It was a pleasure capturing this wedding day in Halifax and a venue that I can’t wait to shoot in again.

We sat and watched it together this afternoon and then we've not long sat and watched it with Mike's mum and his brother Paul the best man. We were giggling at his speech and then getting emotional at the creative film that is just amazing!”
