‘How Lydia and Adam met’
Lydia and Adam met online where every modern love story begins, it’s said that Adam played a little hard to get but after a couple of dates Adam fell deeply in love with Lydia. For their first date they went for some casual drinks. Lydia challenged Adam to surprise her with a cocktail, which sadly was possibly the worst tasting drink on the menu. Luckily for Adam a second date was on the cards where they went to Cotswold wildlife park. Adam came across some geese that were described to the size of Pterodactyls. Lydia noticed Adam was concerned and guided him past, solidifying a bond that would last forever.
They planned their wedding at Walcot Hall ensuring every element of their wedding personal theme. The florist at this wedding was Pheasant Field Flowers who made light work of making the bouquet and the floral arrangements perfect for the big day. For Lydia’s attire, she wore a dress from Indiebride London and a viel from Adorn By Ashley. The make up and hair was executed by the wonderful Rebecca Forshaw. This was the look Lydia wanted and was achieved flawlessly as you can see in the videos and images in this post. The day was also perfectly planned and coordinated by Kate and Charley.
“Honestly you’ve blown us away, I can’t believe how beautiful this is Tony”
In the morning Lydia was prepped in the bridal suite with mother, two bridesmaids and her sister’s daughter. Being hired as a Walcot Hall wedding videographer it’s important for me to capture the details of the venue. Being a stately home there was a lot of unique artwork and architecture that was the platform for the wedding. Once Lydia and the ladies were getting started me and the photographer, Vix, went to capture groom prep at the old, converted woodwork shop on site. The weather was a little cloudy in the morning but it did brighten up as the day went on.
The ceremony was held at Lydbury North Church where Lydia’s mother conducted the service. This gave a very special touch to the ceremony, as well with Lydia’s step father playing the organ. Lydia walked down the aisle, accompanied by her father and met Adam who was holding back tears. A special moment here was when Adam lifted the veil which is something that doesn’t happen all that often. Once the service was over we had an amazing confetti tunnel just outside the church and then the happy couple went for a intimate drink together at the local public house.

Cocktail hour started with music being performed by the amazing Dan Brunskill. It’s important for me to allow the couple space after the ceremony to mingle with their guests and have a chance to really enjoy their wedding day. This is the perfect moment to capture candid shots of laughter, smiles and important people of the day. After the photographer was finished with the group photos the couple went back to their guests to enjoy more time with their friends and family.
The toasts were before the meal which had four memorable speeches. Lydia gave a speech talking about her health issues that lead her to have a new found fondness and appreciation for life. Stating that the love her and Adam share is something that she will never take for granted. Lydia’s father read an extract from a book called ‘on marriage’ by Kahlil Gibran. It was a dialogue between two characters called Almitra and the master, explaining marriage and how couples should allow spaces in their togetherness, not making a bond of love, but hold love together with space between you.
Couples portraits were taken on the grounds of Walcot Hall, which led to Lydia and Adam sharing some moments together in an old rowing boat. The rain may have been coming down heavily but the couple were in high spirits. The evening started with the cutting of the cake made by Sweet Little Things and then into the first dance. We were met with dancing, singing and nothing but smiles on everyone’s faces. This wedding was one to remember and I can’t thank Lydia and Adam enough for hiring me to capture their special day.
These are Lydia’s words on ‘the best wedding videographer’: ‘Tony is incredible. We are speechless! To say we are blown away is an understatement.
We have cried and laughed with happiness & love for the art Tony has created. The videos have captured the day in a way that makes us relive it, you have somehow put all the love that we felt on the day in a 7 minute clip. When we first met, you really made it clear how much you value the voices of our loved ones and you have made those voices so clear it is like I am back in the ballroom listening to my father's speech. Watching it, we cried, we laughed, and we went through the full motions. This video to me is priceless. I am now on my twelfth watch in 48hrs.
Tony, you are so amazing. You blended in with our guests so well and were so discreet. You didn't orchestrate any poses or kisses, you let the day flow with the couple and captured small moments in time that hold so much emotion.
We couldn't be more grateful for what you have done. This video is something we will cherish for the rest of our lives and we have you to thank for that.’
The kind words from Lydia and Adam about ‘the best wedding videographer’ …
“It’s just beautiful!! It’s so nice to relive it and my dads reading at the beginning is so emotional”
