‘How Heather and Joe met’
Heather and Joe met at high school in Nantwich whilst they were both studying. Joe and Heathers first date was in Costa Coffee because at the time, they were too young to drink. They talked about hot chocolate and who was in their top 5, they had no idea this date would start the love journey that led them to this day. Joe works in the corporate world at Adidas and Heather is aiding shape the minds of our youth as a teacher. They chose the region of Dordogne, France, as it is where they frequent throughout the years and visit Joe’s grandparents who live there. Their wedding planning was perfected by Little Big at Château de la Mothe ensuring every element of their wedding had a vibrant theme. The florist at this wedding was Les Mauvaises Herbes who made light work of making the bouquet and the floral arrangements throughout the venue, perfect for the big day.
The couple hired me as their Château de la Mothe wedding videographer which was a real privilege. For Heathers wedding, she wore a dress from Dotty Bridal, make up and hair was executed by the amazing Imanbemakup and Zoe Hughes. This was the look Heather wanted and was achieved flawlessly as you can see in the videos and images in this post.
“Tony!!! We absolute love our videos!!!!”
The morning started at Joe’s prep which was at his grandparents home around a 15 minute drive from the venue. This location was also in the same place as the ceremony in a quint town of Bertric-Buree at Church Saint-Pierre et Saint-Paul. This made getting drone footage of the Church easier in terms of timings as I wouldn’t need to rush before the ceremony or not have the chance to capture it at all being hired as a solo shooter. Joe and his groomsmen were tactical in their approach of attire by opting for linen suits. A wise choice as the temperature did reach highs of 38 degrees celsius (100.4F). Joe had bought his groomsmen a present from his work which were some Adidas flip flops, a little touch from his career. We then got some shots of Joe getting ready and I captured some more shots of the town.
I then headed to the venue where Heather was being prepped in one of the many authentically French rooms in Château de la Mothe with her mother and bridesmaids. It’s important for me to introduce myself in the morning without a camera so that I can truly connect with people before capturing any footage. The morning was very calm with everyone in good spirits, working with Kewin Connin Jackson on photo was a real pleasure . The weather was beautiful, the sunlight was creating beautiful shapes through the window which led to some of my favourite shots.
The ceremony was emotional as well as personal. Joe had tears as he saw his beautiful bride walk down the aisle. After being together since high school you can only imagine the anticipation for this moment. There were three readings throughout the ceremony, one by Joe’s groomsmen Nathan, Heathers bridesmaid Annabel and Joe’s grandad giving a moving reading about love. After the ceremony we held confetti in the gardens next to the church before making our way back to the Château.
Cocktail hour started with music being Dj’d by the enthusiastic Nick The Funk. It’s important at this moment for me to allow the couple space after the ceremony to converse with their guests and have a chance to really enjoy their wedding day. This is the perfect moment to capture candid shots of laughter, smiles and important people of the day. As the weather was blessing us with clear skies me and Kewin decided to wait and do the couples portraits after the toasts to give the couple and us the best light.
The wedding breakfast started with a toast from Heathers father, talking about how proud he is of Heather and how happy he is for them both. Joe thanked his guests for making the travel plans to get here and toasting to his beautiful wife Heather, speaking of the time they have spent together. A dynamic duo ended the toasts, two of Joe’s groomsmen giving a toast with both humour and heartfelt words.
The evening started with some couples portraits throughout the grounds of the Château. Joe and Heather were in great spirits and were a delight to capture. The light as the sun was setting was very complimentary to the compositions we chose. Heading back into the converted agricultural barn for the first dance. The party was one big celebration with champagne and wine flowing throughout. The cheeseboard was something I’ll remember as the energy boost I needed after a full day of shooting on the hottest day in France.
These are Heather’s words on ‘the best wedding videographer’: “The film is outstanding and has exceeded what we thought, we both really love it and can’t wait to have this as an annual viewing party. Thank you Tony for you hard work and talent”
The kind words from Heather and Joe about ‘the best wedding videographer’ …
“You are incredible at what you do and we couldn’t be more grateful to have you capture of our day”
