‘How angharad and Dion met’

Angharad and Dion’s love story began in a contemporary fashion, through online connection, though fate had already placed them in each other’s space years prior, during Angharad’s time in the hospitality industry. Once they’re relationship began they have embarked on a journey together that would take them to Amsterdam, Morocco, and the rich history of Kraków. Their adventures only deepened when, 18 months before their wedding, they welcomed their precious baby boy, who, true to his parents’ love for travel, had already explored the charm of Italy and the elegance of France before his first birthday.

Dion’s proposal was effortlessly romantic, set against the breathtaking coastal backdrop of Lligwy Beach—a place close to their hearts. With the utmost respect and tradition, Dion had sought Angharad’s parents’ blessing before asking for her hand. As they strolled along the shore, Angharad mused aloud about the perfection of the day and how wonderful a proposal would be in such a setting. Before Dion could even drop to one knee, she embraced him joyfully, saying "yes" before the question was spoken. In keeping with his thoughtfulness, Dion opted not to choose a ring himself, instead allowing Angharad to select a piece for herself.

A man of ambition and success, Dion runs his own distinguished business in waterwork engineering, while Angharad devotes her time to nurturing their young son in their beautiful North Wales home. Their life is one of meaningful moments—cherishing time together, indulging in fine dining experiences, and surrounding themselves with treasured family and friends. For them, true luxury is found in the richness of love, health, and the bonds that make life truly extraordinary.

They chose their North Wales wedding venue, Talhenbont Hall, due to its beautiful architecture, its well kept grounds and the warm hospitality of its owners. The florist at this wedding was Mr Jones and me who made light work of making the bouquet and the floral arrangements throughout the ceremony, perfect for the big day.

The couple hired me as their Talhenbont hall wedding videographer which was a real privilege. For Angharads wedding, she wore a dress from Along Came Eve, make up was executed by the amazing Make up By Lois and hair by Ypdws Elinwyn. This was the look Angharad wanted and was achieved flawlessly as you can see in the videos and images in this article.

“We absolute love our Film!”

The day began with a scenic drive across North Wales, entering Snowdonia and to the final destination of Talhenbont hall, where I was warmly greeted by the Owners. After a brief exchange with Angharad, I immediately set about capturing the first establishing shots for their film. The morning unfolded serenely, with both Angharad and Dion remaining composed, their only slight nerves adding to the anticipation of the day. The talented Morgan Owen, who was the photographer, was a pleasure to work with again, bringing a calm professionalism to the atmosphere. Whilst the bridal party were deep into their preparations, me and Morgan made our way to the groomsmen. Some slight nerves but the atmosphere was one of excitement. One of my favourite parts of the day is capturing the bride for the first time in her dress. The make up is fresh, the hair is perfect and just placing Angharad in flattering light just made the bridal portraits a dream to capture.

The ceremony started with a local celebrity, Elin Fflur singing a traditional welsh song for the bridal party to walk down the aisle. Dion held back his tears as Angharad was accompanied by her Father. The ceremony was conducted by Sarah, ceremonies with personality, a celebrant who told the love story perfectly. By having a celebrant it really brings a personal touch to the day, having not just vows, but your story being told in a caring, articulate way brings a feel to the day like no other. Once the couple had sealed their ceremony with a kiss it was time for the wedding to move onto the festivities.

Cocktail hour started with a confetti toss in front of the venue. It’s important at this moment for me to allow the couple space after the ceremony to converse with their guests and have a chance to really enjoy their wedding day. This is the perfect moment to capture candid shots of laughter, smiles and important people of the day. After the group photos it was time to take the couple away for their portrait session. This is a great time for me and Morgan to be creative, look for interesting light, artful compositions and visual patterns. It’s important for me to not go with what is trending, but to use tried and tested formulas that have solidified the art of photography for years.

As the guests walked into the wedding breakfast they serenaded once again by Elin Fflur, this was a great way to get everyone entertained as they waited patiently for their meal. The toasts were after the meal and started with Dion’s Mother, Angharad’s Father, Dions brother and finally Dion. There was a lot of emotion in the toasts which led to a more emotive film. By having this dialogue over the film, it gives it a personal touch and one that allows for creativity in the edit.

As we drew into the evening the couple wanted some final portraits so we took the to the lawn in front of the main house. The light at this time is very soft and complimentary to skin tones so it is the perfect tie for this kind of session. The music for the evening was provided by The Function hub who supplied a DJ and a saxophonist. The best time for me to get party shots is at the end of the first dance going into the next song. Everyone is on the dance floor and in high spirits. My aim is to look for detail shots, hands in the air, interesting dance moves and singing. Thank you Angharad and Dion for hiring me to capture your wedding.

These are Angharad’s words on ‘the best wedding videographer’: “Tony you are amazing!!! Honestly, I knew it would be but we are beyond happy with the film! You are the best at what you do! Thank you so so much for capturing our special day.”
